This long avenue dating from the 20th century is home to the most impressive buildings of the time: the Grassy, the Telefónica building and the Metrópolis. You can also attend the best shows, musicals and the most important theatres in the country.
Come to this famous square in the city centre, where you'll find the historic Chocolatería San Ginés for one of the most typical local breakfasts or snacks. From here, you'll see the Tío Pepe sign, Spain's Kilometre 0 and the statue of the Oso y el Madroño.
This covered market is one of the city's main gastronomic meeting points. With more than 30 stalls where you can sample typical Spanish products and dishes of the highest quality.
Don't miss the most important religious building in Madrid, consecrated in 1993 by Pope John Paul II and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Its colourful stained glass windows will transport you to another era and you will enjoy excellent views from its dome.
Enjoy a young and alternative atmosphere in the Malasaña neighbourhood, famous during the Movida Madrileña of the 80's. Next to it, the Chueca neighbourhood, a reference point for the LGTBI+ community throughout Europe. Both have numerous vintage shops, street markets, bookshops, independent theatres, art galleries, designer bars and a great nightlife.
An oasis in the middle of the city, to disconnect from the noise and bustle. You will find a huge artificial pond, flower gardens, a Monument to Alfonso XII and a beautiful Crystal Palace. Perfect for strolling, playing sports or sitting and reading under a tree.
A museum located at the end of the Gran Vía where you will find one of the best panoramic views of the city. You can enjoy Madrid's famous sky from its rooftop, the epicentre of a cultural group founded in 1880.
This square is home to the Centro Cibeles, an intercultural space that holds exhibitions on urban life. A cultural centre for participation, action, leisure and learning founded in 1904.
This is one of the world's foremost art museums, where you will find some of the most important works in the history of art, such as The Three Graces by Rubens, The Naked Maja by Goya, The Garden of Earthly Delights by Bosch or Las Meninas by Velázquez.
Explore the most popular streets of the Spanish Golden Age, where renowned authors such as Cervantes, Lope de Vega and Quevedo once walked. From the Plaza de Santa Ana you can visit Calle Huertas, the Convento de las Trinitarias Descalzas de San Ildefonso or the Plaza del Ángel and the Basílica de Jesús de Medinaceli.
This museum houses a collection of the most important contemporary art in the history of art. Here you will find the jewels of the pictorial masters Dalí, Miró and Picasso. It's a place to learn more about the avant-garde movements and their peculiarities.
Every Sunday the largest open-air flea market in the city is held here from 9:00 to 15:00. Over 400 years old, located on the hillside of Ribera de Curtidores and with all types of stalls: furniture, books, records, crafts and clothes, it’s a great opportunity to get to know the neighbourhood of La Latina in depth!
